On 1 October 2024, the Director General of the Division for Coordination and Implementation, accompanied by a delegation of five officials from the public service, attended the closing of the project "Strengthening Foresight and Anticipatory Governance Practices in the Maltese Public Administration" at the OECD headquarters in Paris. There, he gave a presentation on the work carried out during the course of the project, the results achieved, and the next steps to be taken so that the discipline of strategic foresight becomes an integral part of the capabilities of the Public Service.

The Assistant Director of the Division led a discussion on long-term planning in a political democracy, while the Senior Manager from the Ministry for Education, Sport, Youth, Research and Innovation led another discussion on the establishment of a Unit dedicated to Strategic Foresight.

The conference was chaired by OECD officials. Representatives from the LIMinal project partners, Italy and Lithuania, were also present, along with OECD experts who led the project, and other international experts. Representatives from the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Reform congratulated LIMinal participants on the results achieved during the project.

The visit to Paris was coordinated and sponsored by TAIEX, the European Commission's instrument for Technical Assistance and Information Exchange.
